First off, our hearts go out to all those cities south of us in Fort Meyers and nearby that were hit so hard. It just shows how lucky we continue to be with these storms.
The morning after the storm, the HOA Board had tree service folks on standby to come into the community to start cleaning and clearing. None of the oaks in the park fell. However, there were lots of large branches. We lost two trees, one on Lake Michaela and one in Red Warbler. The crews should be finished Saturday.
We have eight light poles down in the community. TECO is aware and they will be addressing them in order of priority. In the meantime, HOA board members put caution tape on the light poles and swept away broken glass from the street. Please be careful and aware when walking around the lake.
While many of us have power, some of our residents are still without power. Let’s be neighborly and offer all the support we can.
Some of our homeowner’s fences did not fair so well either. In an effort to speed up the repair process, the HOA is streamlining the ACC process. For instance, if you are replacing a section of fence with the exact existing fence, please note that in your ACC request and provide a picture of the section you are replacing and you will be approved right away. If you are taking the opportunity to replace the fence with something new, you will need to follow the regular guidelines. The HOA wants to make this process quick and easy, just remember, the Property Manager will be verifying these approved requests once they are up.
Saturday, HOA board members will be taking time out of their day to put the pool furniture back in order. If you would like to help, come out at 11AM.
Regular curbside yard waste collection resumes Monday October 3, 2022. At this time only bagged or packaged yard waste will be collected curbside by regular waste hauler. Piles of leaves and small twigs must be bagged or placed in containers to be collected. They will also be doing large storm-related debris curbside collections starting October 6, but they are also requiring leaves and twigs to be bagged.
The HOA has received some wonderful stories about neighbors helping neighbors. Thanks everyone for chipping in and making our community great.
