Lake Michaela is the centerpiece of the community with a one mile continuous sidewalk that loops around the entire lake. Those who walk around this lake, find themselves in close proximity to a wide variety of birds and wildlife that are not normally found in a residential community.
Along with the birds and other wildlife we also have a family of alligators which are commonly seen swimming or sunning on one of the small islands located within this lake. Since the alligators were here first, they are protected and residents are advised to use common sense when walking with small children or pets along the lake's perimeter. The lake of course is also off limits to swimming.
The Association periodically stocks Lake Michaela with many varieties of fish including catfish, brim and large mouth bass. Since this is a private lake, only residents and invited guests may enjoy fishing in this centrally located lake.
Visitors to our community are immediately struck with the beauty of another major asset we call Zeina Park. This park covers approximately 15 acres and is located immediately west, as you enter Twin Lakes. Zeina Park is full of majestic oak trees, some of which are over 100 years old. These old oaks provide a natural canopy over the park and produce a shaded environment for any event.
Zeina Park is an ideal spot for residents and their guest to enjoy a picnic, take a stroll or just relax. Children may also enjoy the shade these trees provide in the adjacent children's playground area.
The community has many asset for its residents to enjoy from the lakes and park to a private swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts and a soccer field. These asset combined with a beautiful setting have made Twin Lakes of Brandon one of Hillsborough County's most desirable residential communities.
